AMMENDED
Business, Tourism and Investment Opportunities in Tanzania.
Especially in the Islands of Mafia and Zanzibar - and The Rest in Tanzania.
September 23, 2008.
If you have read my articles in my column Between Us Only (Oman Daily Observer) and my website www.alsuleimany.com - When The Storms Came In - This Glass Is Bent - and my book Between Us Only (Are You Afraid? - you will recall that though I was born in Zanzibar, our Al Suleimany family grew up in these Islands – especially of Mafia (a.k.a. Chole).
Some of our direct relatives (Al Suleimany mainly), are still living there. Mafia was part of The Zanzibar Sultanate, but was annexed by the Germans to be part of Tanganyika then.
It is common knowledge that in East Africa - like in many countries of the world today - you need reliable trusting people with local knowledge and talents – for one to conduct and mediate in business ventures and investments.
There are rich and quick pickings here. Economics is – Place; Place; Place!
Expand your business clientele and markets into Tanzania.
We in MAS-TRAC are here to help, assist and co-operate with you in this regard.
We have the local contacts, knowledge, expertise of the local market and in its business environment and atmosphere. The risks are greatly reduced by trusting us. Business is built on trust, and you can trust MAS-TRAC.
As we all know in Economics and Business, clientele potential buying power makes all the difference between making it quick – or not at all. There is big buying and purchasing power here. Tanzania is seen as one of the rising boom economic giants in Africa, and there is peace and security compared to other countries – even to around its neighbours.
MAS-TRAC, under our auspices, can put you in touch with the right business contacts and peoples, in Mafia – and any other places in Zanzibar and in Tanzania.
There is much talk of gas and oil found in Tanzania, especially in the Coastal side. These were not explored before, but with oil now reaching US Dollars 140, they have become feasible for further exploration and exploitation. This is a one time great opening and opportunity of a market that has all the potentials of high returns of Investments (ROI). The population of Dar es Salaam – capital city – is over 12 million – with great purchasing power and money to spend too.
The peoples of Mafia are 95% Muslims, conservative and religious – but simple and accepting peoples. The locals speak a Swahili very near found in Pemba Island in Zanzibar, even the vegetation and environment looks like that in Zanzibar, mainly coconuts, mango trees, cashew nuts, beaches etc. There are no cloves in Mafia.
Though Zanzibar is well known, Mafia is also famous in Tourism – especially for fishing and scuba diving, with peoples coming from all over the globe. It lies between great sea faring lanes of great ships passing between it and the Capital City of Dar es Salaam. It has sweet fresh water like that found in Zanzibar. There are good tourist hotels and resorts that charge even over 250 US Dollars a night. See Websites below.
Mafia Island has high potential for investment and in tourism with its uninhibited beaches and sites, but it needs a lot of infrastructure development especially in The Services and Tourism Sector – example good restaurants, shops, petrol stations, transport, airlines, etc.
